PLUM GROVE ITEMS.

May 30th, 1879

Last Tuesday, a private party of our citizens had a nice little fishing picnic on the banks of the Whitewater.

☞ Judge Black thinks warm weather has a more substantial effect on the matrimonial market, as he issued three licenses last week.

☞ “Num Skull” has left us; hereafter, we shall not be responsible for his acts.

☞ The citizens of this vicinity are now visiting Newton more frequently than usual, caused by Peabody not keeping a stock of the necessary beverage.

☞ A street bawler was in town last week, selling trinkets for the benefit of orphans.

☞ Mr. Parsells, of St. Joseph, will hereafter run the store at Plum Grove.

☞ Stark Spencer is now buying and paying the highest market price for hogs and corn. Country produce is delivered either at Plum Grove or Peabody.
