Plum Grove and Vicinity
Once again, I undertake to chronicle events in our vicinity.
☞ Philo Hunter, Jr. brought home a new bride last week. Both looked happy; may they remain so.
☞A. Kennedy has rented his farm to Mr. Waldren, of Illinois, and is going to Missouri in a few days. We are sorry to lose Mr. Kennedy as he is a good neighbor and a gentleman.
☞Dr. V. Davis and T. L. Ferrier are on their way from Arkansas, where they have been buying cattle for the past six weeks; they are bringing home six or eight hundred head.
☞The last seen of “A Star Cuss,” he was on his way to El Dorado in company with three candidates for office in our county. What does it mean Stark, are you too going to run for office.
☞There is to be a grand Republican rally at the Grove Saturday, November 1. the honorable D. M. Elder will address the assembly on the past, present, and future of the Republican party. Come one and all as you may never get another opportunity. Mr. Hiram Barker will also address the citizens at the close or Mr. Elder’s speech on the Greenbackers’ claims.
☞Our county is suffering from a very severe attack of political office seekers-don’t known whether we will recover or not.
Yours,
NUM SKULL
