Further wisdom I have gleaned from passages of My Life

I was born nearly seventy years ago and have made a lasting impression on those I’ve met, mostly positive. I pridefully reflect on my name, ‘Lyman,’ which was given in honor of a Civil War soldier, symbolizing my family’s valor. ‘David’ honors a daredevil uncle, representing our adventurous spirit, while ‘Spencer’ suggests a unique inheritance, including a sound mind and healthy body.

“Fettle” refers to one’s condition, especially regarding health and fitness. When someone is described as being in good fettle, they are in excellent physical shape and have a strong sense of mental well-being.

Thus, I share my commitment to maintaining physical, mental, and spiritual health in this testament to my journey. I exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet to promote my physical well-being. To support my mental health, I practice mindfulness and engage in activities that stimulate my mind. However, the most essential component of my well-being is the daily nourishment I receive from God’s word.

I believe cultivating gratitude is key to overall satisfaction. This trifecta of health is crucial—neglecting any aspect can lead to decline, and I’m determined to prevent that. What’s truly frightening is how quickly decay begins and how swiftly it undermines critical functions—often without us even realizing it. “

“My journey has been a deep spiritual awakening amidst the challenging, fragile body. One morning, I realized something was awry in my life. Compressing years of experiences into a single day, I learned through my misadventures to confront my demons and navigate the turmoil I faced. This process led to redemption, trading guilt for compassion, as 1 Peter 4:8 KJV emphasized: “Charity covers a multitude of sins.”

Redemption purifies and empowers, helping us overcome obstacles. I aim to inspire those dealing with traumatic injuries, including my own— a gunshot wound to the head that should have been fatal without God’s grace. I’ve discovered that self-inflicted therapy, drawing on inner strength, is vital for my healing.

“Motivation and encouragement are vital for achieving seemingly unattainable goals. I drew from friends and advocates to navigate my struggles and document positive affirmations for tough times. This effort requires discipline and self-reflection. Exercise is key to my success; as they say, “use it or lose it.” I strive for excellence but make conscious efforts to turn my thoughts into words on the page.

Of course, I may be wasting my eloquence; perhaps no curious stranger searching for knowledge, truth, or wisdom will stumble upon this website. Yet, that is not the primary goal—just my heartfelt aspiration. That is why I can say “self-inflicted” therapy.

You have probably heard the old Scottish proverb, “Confession is good for the soul,” which rings true! However, I believe that “introspection is equally redemptive for the soul. While it has been mentally challenging and sometimes tedious, this introspective process has also been rewarding. By simply articulating my thoughts and processing the feedback my brain produces, my efforts have resulted in a restorative, therapeutic experience.

I am incredibly grateful to have found peace and blessed assurance through the perseverance I have experienced on this journey. It has taught me how to cope with issues beyond my physical control. These challenges have transformed me spiritually through grace and faith, instilling a sense of reassurance and hope even when my goals seem unattainable.

I believe that the incomprehensible God has instilled a remarkable resilience in the DNA of those who persevere through life’s unprecedented and unforeseen challenges. “It’s often this overlooked component that exists within every human being and can unleash strength and determination to press onward without complaint. It is thus rewarI’ve to draw upon the resilience of others in difficult moments. However, first and foremost, I must be honest with myself: I do not possess all the answers or the knowledge to face the unpredictable dangers that lie before, around, and behind me.

Philosophically, I reflect on this idea: some celestial bodies are more luminous in the sky because of their nearness, while others shine intrinsically brilliantly though farther away from our perspective. By God’s grace, I consider myself an intrinsic brilliance; my life follows a predetermined path as I journey through this existence, gaining knowledge and wisdom toward heaven, my ultimate destiny.
