America’s original, preeminent weatherman, Benjamin Franklin, is quoted, “Some people are weatherwise, but most are otherwise.” Contrarily otherwise or not, I am weatherwise. While it’s a catchy little play on words, the essence is, wisdom is on the side of those who plan their daily activities through prognosticators’ meteorological forecasts. In contrast, “others” can be foolish by showing a lack of respect for mother nature. Those could not be more valid words for a weather-active state such as Kansas. As a native Kansan, one must learn through experience to be prepared for the weather-of-the-day, for every single unique day may and often does bring extreme weather conditions of a life-threatening variety. Here’s a sampling of a few prime photographic examples of the remarkable meteorological harmony Kansas weather puts on display throughout the year.
